This ministry is the fruit of the “Prayer of Jabez”. Early in 2005, my church was studying the prayer and I innocently declared along with everyone else, “Lord expand my territory and bless me indeed”. Little did I know how He would go about answering that simple request. The next thing I knew, He asked me to increase Christian programming on my local public access TV station. So I tried to get all the pastors I knew to put their church services on TV, but no one seemed really interested. Then He reiterated, “I want YOU to increase Christian programming!”
In response to that clarification, I assembled a crew of women and teenagers, hoping all along that this would be our version of the “Isaac Test”, that we would only have to go so far and then He would release us from this overwhelming assignment. Not so. In six weeks, we learned to direct, run cameras, check sound, decorate a set, generate titles, and time a show. For a year and a half, we broadcast one program, Transformations Unlimited, once a week from the studio. You can view some samples of those programs on the “Archived TV” page of this website.
Then we lost our director to a full time job and thought it was all over since none of the rest of us could direct. But interestingly enough, that was just the beginning of the expansion! I purchased an Apple computer and a Canon GL2 camera and the Lord gave me a crash course in filming and editing. I could then do so very much more to increase Christian programming. Now, besides Transformations Unlimited, I film and produce Grass Valley Aglow and the Good News Club at Union Hill School. In addition, I submit special programming from church concerts, Christian events, and key Nevada County Christian MInisterial Fellowship community services. Also, in order to help raise up a generation of young people to share the good news of the gospel through media, the Lord has had me sponsor the NorCal Christian Youth Film Fest. This is our third year for the event and we look forward to many youth groups participating. Check it out on the “Film Fest” page.
What I euphemistically call “this great adventure with God” has become quite a walk of faith. Leaving a position as an Associate Pastor at my church and launching this ministry has more than just expanded my territory, it has dramatically increased my dependence on Him in every way, an experience I would not trade for anything. Today, I feel more alive, more productive, more fulfilled than I ever could have imagined. He truly has “blessed me indeed!”
